my son's father has helped out with support $$ since 2003 and now I feel like he's getting greedy, we have joint custody, with my son residing with me in chicago, we alternate holidays, and my son spends his summer vacation with his dad in nevada, there is no court ordered child support, i didnt think it was neccessary, and there has never been an issue with money until now, we have had a joint banking account, and I would spend that money on whatever my son needed at that time, however he does, pay for roundtrip plane tickets, but now that account is almost empty, and he has totally changed into a complete jerk, so I need some information about child support and visitation, how much does my son's father have to pay for child support, and if he doesnt pay what my son is intitled to, do I still have to send my son to visit with his dad? and also what will happen if I don't send him to visit his dad?

You are going to need a lawyer. I would file for full custody, get that out of the way, and ask for child support. You will be amazed a the amount of child support the Father SHOULD have been paying. And visitation can be worked out at that time or at a later date. And no, not unless your son feels he wants to go visit his Dad, do you have to send your son to his Father. The Father broke the prearranged custody deal between the two of you. If no court order is in effect in the Fathers state, then there is no precident in this case unless you set one by sueing for custody in your home state. Do it and do it now!
