Here is the problem:
My brother's Original Will with the Nortary Raised Seal can not be located.
I am the executor. The Will was Made at Fort Monmouth N.J where he was a Gov. Contract Worker employee. They do not retain an Original Will, nor does anyone in his family have it, or at any other possible location.
The Monmouth NJ Surrogate Court will not probate his will, unless they have the Original Will with the raised seal. His Will only contained Insurance, which went to his adult children, and two Credit Union Accounts, that must be probated to close out, and file his income taxes.
This is My Question:
After doing everything required of me as executor in satisfying my duty to his family on the Insurance, and setting up with the IRS to pay his taxes. I now find I cannot probate the remainder of these two accounts. NJ is now considering his death intsestate. So, what possible options do I legally have to accomplish this, in this situation?
