Hello, I am not sure what this would fall under. I am wondering:
I pay on a lease that is in another persons name (old friend) and have been since about July of last year. For whatever reason, I am not able to get a hold of my friend (I don't think he is taking my calls or messages). I have attempted since the beginning of they year by phone, snail mail, text message, etc. The car was leased from MI, registered to MI where he lives. However, I moved to CA (which he was aware of) and the car needs to be registered here and I have tried to contact him numerous times to explain it could be impounded as well as if something happens, the insurance may not cover. He still has not responded. I have continued to make the payments and keep full coverage insurance on it but now, the plates are due to expire this month and i have asked him what he wants me to do and he still does not respond. I cannot afford to keep paying on a car that I will not be able to drive. I have to have a car so I have been looking. I am wondering, what the heck am I supposed to do with this car if he continues not to respond. The car is entirely in his name. I can't drop it off at his house b/c I'm in CA and couldn't anyways b/c the plates expire in a couple of weeks. I don't think it is fair that I should continue to pay on it when he has made it impossible to drive. PLEASE HELP!!
