title fraud

I purchased a car from an individual on 10/12/07 for $2850.00 the next day the car begin to give me trouble. I called the individual he said you purchased the car "as is" I told him it's was less than 24 hrs how could he do that? He bacame very irate and hung up the phone. Needless to say the car finally totally quit on me. I called him back 3 weeks later he said he would look at the car it couldn't be much wrong because he don't sell bad cars, well after he towed the car he never called me back, after leaving several messages he called and said the car could not be repaired and I needed to pay him for towing the car. The entire time of dealing with him I assumed he was the person on the title in which he signed. He claims that he didn't sign the title but I saw him sign it. Do I have a case?? I live in the state of Georgia.
