I live in oklahoma and i am late with my rent. my landlord and his son came by this morning screaming and yelling and threatening me, demanding payment then. I called the Broken Arrow Police Department, they sent an officer over and he said nothing he could do about it and that he could get a 24 hour eviction notice if he wanted. I can't find any laws on 24 hour evictions in Oklahoma. I told the landlord i could be out by next weekend and he said no I better be out and have the keys waiting for him Monday at Noon. What can I do, I have told him that i was going to be very late on rent and he said just pay what i could. I gave him $40 the other day and he wouldn't give me a receipt. The man is crooked, I have done work on his rental properties including the one i live in and he has always under payed (only taken a little off of rent)I was putting the roof on the house i live in and he decided he was only going to take off $350 instead of the full month we had discussed. I am tired of the constant phone calls. He calls demanding rent early and just to find out what we are doing. If i don't answer or call back he starts leaving threatening messages while he is drunk. I have a pregnant wife and a 3year old son. they don't need this, I can have the place cleaned out by this next weekend but i need to know if I am going to have the chance to do that
