So me and my buddy replaced a brakeline on my truck. We were not able to complete the process by "bleeding the brakes". Took my truck to Midas and asked them to bleed the brakes, told them the bolt used to bleed the brakes was stripped. They said I may have to buyt new calipers. Few hours later they call me, amazingly enough, yes I needed to buy new Calipers. I say "ok" and they proceed to do that. I then recieve a call a couple hours later saying they found another leak in a different brake line. My and my buddy had the truck jacked up and looking for leaks, the only one we found is the one we replaced. But they did what they do
(telling me it needs to be done cause my brakes still arnt working) and I said ok fine I just need my truck. So I ended up spending $550 WHEN I ONLY NEEDED MY BRAKES BLED. So this morning, when I went to pick up the truck, the mechanic non-chalantly tells me "Oh it smells like you have a gas leak too" and it smelled like gas. Mind you I had ABSOLUTELY NO GAS LEAK previously. None. Never smelled gas, never had a puddle under my truck and now, all of the sudden, I have a BAD gas leak after taking my truck to Midas.
My question is, what actions can I take to hold them accountable for this? Something was done, whether on accident or otherwise, to cause this gas leak. Any advice is welcome!
