I have a serious situation that I need help with.
Another person aquired and account and acrued a outstanding amount with a company using my company name that my company had nothing to do with. When contacted by attorney for that company that lawsuite was being filed the action we took was to have this other person sign a notized afidavit that he is completely responsible for the account and that our company had nothing to do with the account and delivered the afidavit to the company. They accepted the afidavit and indicated that they were aware that we had nothing to do with the account.
But due to the fact that the person that aquired the account has done nothing to satisfy the debt the attorney and the company holding the debt have informed us that we are the ones they are going to sue because they know we have the ability to pay the debt. What are we to do?
