Recently, I spoke with a friend of mine who's been having some issues with her mother. Neither of us are familiar with the legal system on terms of her situation, given the fact were students in high school and college right now, so we need some advice. This is what she told me.
"Alright, so the only reason I ever lived with my mother is because of the child support. 800 or so dollars a month. Now, she works a 12-9 job making around 12 dollars an hour, Monday through Friday, but she never has any money, because she spends it on sh*t she wants, like a 300 dollar bottle of Patrone, and marijuana. Sh*t like that. Well..she never buys food, so like there is never anything to eat here, and now she's moved one of her f*ck buddies into her house. A few months back she and I got into an argument where she ended up choking me. It left bruises, which I have pictures of. I've been staying with my uncle for the past couple of weeks, but she made me come back today because she thought that I had money I'd give her."
She's 18, by the way, so she is a legal adult. How should she handle this? Thanks.
