I too was taken to jail, because of a check I wrote four years ago. I moved to another state, and evidently the check didn't clear my bank. I had NO idea. I've never even had a traffic ticket-not even a warning. I'm really having a hard time dealing with this (am already being treated for depession). This has sent me into a panic. Now I keep thinking about how this is going to ruin my life. If I move or apply for a job this is going to be there. I paid the fine, don't have to go to court. My question is, is there any way to get this off my record, any waiting period and then it goes away or do I have to live with it????

In some cases, you can pay to have something expunged from your record. Not sure how much it would costs or exactly where u would have to go, but I would just call down to the local police station or court and ask. They should know more about it. Good luck.
