I am in california. I know that in an emergency, the emergency will excuse the trespass but I think you still have to pay for any damages you caused.
For example, my house is on fire and I need to pump the water from your swimming pool to put out the fire. You are not home so I go over your fence and pump the water and put the fire out.
The trespass might be excused due to the emergency but I still have to pay you for the water I took and repairs to the fence if I damaged it right? I know this is true but I cant find a case which supports it.
I really need your help. Thanks.
