I was wondering about a couple of items. I know a person who was just made aware that his wife made about 130K over the past year while recieving Social security. The money was made selling illegal purses and none of the money was reported. He is in the middle of a divorce and is wondering if he discloses this information if he can be held responsible for the taxes being they are still married. or if he can get some kind of imunity from prosecution for blowing the whistle on this taxevasion and Social security fraud. he is disabled and on limited income so could not handle it if he was held liable for the costs and fines that could be inpossed.
What can or should this gentleman do any help is extremely helpful.
Thanks
