Me and my friend were stopped in traffic late in the evening last week and got hit from behind by an older couple. It looked like the only damage to my car was a bend license plate and my muffler hung down a little bit. We exchanged insurance information and decided not to call the police and file a traffic report since the damage seemed minimal. However, here it is a week later and just found out that my back passenger door will not latch now that it's been used for the first time since the accident. So my question is, since I don't have a police report but do have their insurance information, will I be able to have my car fixed at the expense of their insurance?
