My spouse and I have been separated for a few months now. We will be filling for divorce very soon. I make more money then her. We agreed to split everything halfway. As I'm sure that is her right anyways in Indiana. Now she didn't ask for it but she said she was told from a lawyer that I would have to give her spousal support and help her through school as she is still in school now. I was wondering if there is any truth to this.
Also I had a student loan when we were married. I'm still paying on that but I did not plan to include that in the divorce but if there is any disagreements, would I be able to since I only put the student loan in my name?
One last thing, I have purchased several items in the last few months on zero% credit cards. I don't plan for her to pay for these at all but again would she be liable to pay half? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Again I am in Indiana.
