My brother in law was involved in a situation. He was in an accident, just himself, got scared and left the scene. Car was leased. He made a bigger mistake by filing a false police report stating it was stolen. They recovered the car to the leasing agent. He states that there was no one around when he walked away, although he did say that a few of the major highways have traffic cameras. Two questions:
1. What are odds that since the car was recovered that the police will even bother investigating.
2. If caught what would he be looking at. Has little or no record except a few speeding tickets. FYI - he is not from the area and is back home.
