I need to change my divorce decree so that i am not forced to carry health insurance on my minor children, who are already insured on my ex-wifes company insurance. The prosecutors office sent notice to my employer, after i had applied for insurance for myself only, and forced my employer to pick up my two children at the same benefit level as myself. This increased my insurance premium to the point that i could not afford it,but was not allowed to drop the insurance, due to the prosecutors insistance. It doesn't make sense to insure the children with two companies and have two premiums.I have talked with my ex-wife and we agreed that it would make better sense for one of us to carry insurance on the children and the other parent to help with the cost of the added premium level difference.I have agreed to pay half the difference between insurance premium for just herself, and the premium amount with children added to her plan.I need help to get the paperwork together to petition the court to allow this change of our decree. Can someone help me do this without incurring legal fees?
