i moved into a rental unit last year the unit needed alot of work but the landlord ddi not want to pay for anything because the building was for sale. I told her whatever improvements i made would take with me if possible . she sold the building new landlord said everything belongs to him and will have me arrested for vandalizing his unit if i try to remove the items i purchased even though i have the receipts proving i have purchased them i do not exspect to remove the paint and the floors i installed but i installed bathroom vanity mirror , towel racks , toliet paper holders but had to repair where the old ones were because previous tenant rips them out of walls. i bought new light switches and electric plates and wanted to replace with old ones i still have. i purchased and installed knobs and on all the cabinets. installed wood rods and holders in closets and shelves. he said he will only reimburse me for items purchased after he bought the building and is keeping whatever i bought before because they belong to him once he bought the building.
