Hi,
My ex-husband left me and our seven-month old twins in July 1966. We never saw him again and he never paid any child support. I live in Oregon. I waited a year and filed dessertion and divorce. I recently found out he died in September 2006 and was living in California. The twins are 40 years old, one lives in Oregon and the other lives in Arizona. I am wondering if they have legal rights to pursue action against his estate. I don't know how the laws interact between states. I would like to know where to start. How do I find out what assets he possessed and whether the twins have a legal claim? Any help you can give me will be greatly appreciated.
