I recently sold a horse about 1 month ago to a lady in Alabama,I live in tennessee. I sold the horse to be 7 yrs old,and this lady claims this horse is actually 12-13 yrs old according to her veterinarian. I happily told the lady "fine,do you want to get your money back?" and her reply was "NO". Now after haveing the horse for 3 weeks she has decided to go onto numerous forums and post bad things,UNTRUE bad things about me. Dont buy from her,she abused this horse,it was not healthy(poor, skinny) and she sold me a horse she bought from an auction and claimed she had it for 5 yrs! Needless to say,the horse was fat and healthy(pics to prove it),I certainly didnt abuse the horse(or any other animals for that matter) and it was not from an auction(although it isnt illegal to buy from there of course). My problem is this, she has informed me she filed a complaint with the FB on an ic3 form, contacted the local sherrifs dept, and called the local horse rescue/humane society claiming that I sell fraudently, and abuse/neglect my horses. All of this is simply because the horse is a bit older.....and now she claims I refuse to tell her where I bought the horse from so it must be from an auction. 1st of all,the animal didnt come from an auction,I owned him for a few yrs,and I dont abuse/neglect my animals. Is this all considered slander, defamation of character or ??? I just cant get this ladt shut up. I offered to take the horse back, she says "no I rescued him from you". I told her I had the horse for a few years but she insists I am lieing and has called every trainer, horse barn and horse trader in our area asking about me and telling them I have lied and so forth.
All I want her to do is shut up and leave me alone, and now I hear she has contacted the local liscenseing agencies about me. I have no ised what for. I advertise for a local "horse trader" if you will, and dont get anything except the satisfaction of getting to be around the horses and get them into good homes where as they would go to slaughter, another auction or feed lots otherwise. She apparently thinks I should have a liscense to sell them for someone else.....I dont know if I should or not. The man I sell for is a liscensed dealer,I just advertise and collect the money for him and I have fun while I'm doing it. Thers no harm,it's a hobby and I enjoy it so if anyone can offer some advice on what to do or handle this I would gladly appreciate it. DO I need a liscense even though I dont own the horses and do not get to keep the money, and now that this woman has filed the online fraud form(ic3 I believe its called) do I need to worry about that? Friends and family say to just leave her alone and it will just die down and not to worry about it,but geesh it gets on my nearves and now I have this bad feeling that I could be in trouble for nothing! I think it's a cival matter(1500.00 hose) but the online fraud thing has me worried because I havent done anything wrong. I mean,I offered to take the horse back and she said no,she is on a mission to cause me a bad headache and start trouble where this is no reason. She's a busy body with nothing better to do and I am tired of it!
Oh yea,and today she claims she cant catch the horse, cant touch him and he is terrified......every day it's something new! PLEASE HELP ME!
