My 14 year old daughter told my husband and myself a couple of days ago that someone we thought to be a family friend had forced her to have sex with him, given his past I have no doubt in my mind that she's telling the truth. We've notified the police and gone through the appropriate channels, here's my question/concern...a somewhat similar incident happened to me when I was a teenager and it almost tore my family apart, my daughter has no knowledge of this and I don't want her to, is there any reason that it may be brought out should this matter with her go to trial? My family has spent 16 years trying to heal emotionally from what happened in the past and we've come a long way, I don't want this to happen, I need to protect my child, myself and my family. Is there anyway I can supress this?
