My stepfather recently passed away and since then his son(who didnt have time for him before he died or to help with the planning of the funeral) and my stepfathers ex-wife have been trying to start problems. They called today to say that they supposedly have a copy of an old will(it has to be over 20 years old if it exists because my parents had been together for 16 and married 10) leaving everything to the exwife and the biological kids. My question is this, one how do I find out if there really is a will(they said they gave it to a lawyer) and two, everything my mom and stepdad had when he passed away was in both of their names and he didnt have anything he had the long ago anymore. Are they entitled to anything? Should my Mom get a lawyer?
