I have recently been terminated from my job of 2 years.
I had transferred from my job in sacramento and moved up to a smaller store in northern California.
While there I witnessed one of my assistant store managers, doing many things against store policy. So a few weeks later I called the 1800 number they give us to file complaints "anonymously with no action taken against us."
About a week later the zone manager came to look over the store about the complaints I had called on. He told management I was the one that called the complaint in. Another store manager then took me aside and said that I should have talked to him first because the people that call in get fired.
Not too long after I was laid off for "slow season". But not too long after that a new employee was transferred in at top wage.
So I called the number that was given to me at the time I called in, and they said they would call the store to see what was going on and he TOLD me. If he called I probably wouldn't have a job anymore.
The next week I was called in to the store, the store manager told me that I was fired for "bad attitude". I had never had a bad attitude on the job, I was the motivator for my fellow employees.
This has happened to three other employees
