I am new at this and already dealing with idiots taking advantage. I had a tenant sign a lease in March for a year. She wasnt going to move in til May. She gave me $1200 then for MAY rent and agreed two weeks later she was going to give me another $1200 for security. I wrote on the back of the contract that this $1200 was NON-REFUNDABLE and she initialed it as well as I did. Just today she called and said that she didnt want it anymore and wants her money back. She said I have to give her money back because she is giving me 30 days but I reminded her that she signed a year lease for one thing, AND it says non-refundable. WHAT DO I DO? AM I legally supposed to give her money back? If it helps i am in the STATE of NY
