Auto Body Shop took my car!

Can anyone please tell me what recourse I have in a case where I took my car to a body shop for repairs, it's been there for 2 months now, and today I found out the shop owner drove my car to his home and put it in his garage- without my permission! I have tried to pay the guy 2 times, but the repair wasnt finished nor satisfactory. I am not paying for unfinished and shotty work. Help!!!!!:mad:
PS. I own a classic 1996 Chevy Impala SS~ Black- all original. My Baby!;)

I agree with the first post. First contact the bbb and set-up a complaint if they are a member.

second, see if one of the local news organizations has a reporter who investigates companies in the area.

Third, contact the state and file a complaint against the company. All companies are required to hold a license to do business in the city/state.

keep a log of all your activity so you can refer to it when these organizations follow up with you.

Don't be a victim. It is not always about the money.
