My landlady verbally said it's ok that I break my lease, and I have told her I'm moving out this weekend. So she asked for $45 to cover the 3 days of the month that I will still be there. Now her husband, who is not on the lease at all, has text messaged me and said I have to come up with the 3 months rent that is left on the lease agreement or he will see me in court. What do I do? I've already signed a lease on another place closer to my job and given them the 1st month and security deposit The only reason I'm moving is because I'm driving an hour each way to work and it's costing me a fortune. Now I'm worried about being sued. I would never have looked for another place had she not told me it was ok. She said they were keeping my security deposit, which I'm unhappy about, but do understand because I am breaking the lease.
