I've been employed for about six months at this new job. I've been hospitalized twice and my daughter has had an operation and this has caused me to be absent from work. Now I am being written up for this after the fact. I was hospitalized in february and march. My daughter's operation was scheduled and consulted with my boss. Now she is deciding to write me a final warning. Is this legal and what can I do?

When you will absent yourself from work with or without valid reason/s you have to give notice to the company representative so that no hiatus from work can be created. It is a good practice to religiously comply with company rules. In your case, I am not certain if you have wage such notice the moment you absent. The company, per company regulations. can cite you with and warn you for doing what might be in violation of the aforementioned rules.
