My husband and I sold a 1985 eagle wagon several months ago to a guy who is on disabiltiy. He asked if he could make payments. We said ok.Both he and my hubby are mechanics. The car is 21 years old, works well and we told him what needed to be fixed.it also needed to be painted, had less than 100,ooo miles on it.It was inspected. He tried to trade us one he had instead of the $500 for our car.He came with a few guys twice and drove it twice. We even kept a cd palyer in it that my son put in worth $500.A month or two later he called asking for wire for the cd palyer. Then two weeks ago he showed up at my home with his wife demading the $500 back. How low can people go?Apprently his wife had the breaks lock and the mechanic said alot was wrong with the car.She uses a cane and is also disabled. They were very argumentative.People like this should not own a car cause they cannot upkeep it.Well she said we would hear form her lawyer.Last nite he called and said he is sending us a registered letter and to erepond in 10 days.We were laughing about this couple, who we feel, use their disabilty to gain sympathy/money/items.She even said she was going to sue the inspection mechanic. He stated he would fix what was wrong himself, since he is a mechanic (originally).I think they are trting to extort money from us.We have sold cars befire and never had any problems. These people are unreal! We sold them a car I used in good faith. Now that they can;t keep it up,they want money back.Do they have a case?We might end up in small claims court. To show you how weird they are, they showed up at dinnertime!Aren't people afriad in this crazy world that someone might getra shot gun? So my question is,do they have abny gorunds for restitution? They are angry it was inspected, yet found things wrong with this very old car.:p :D
