I live in the basement of a split foyer home. I have no privacy to begin with. My landlord decided she wanted to have her wood floors done right after Christmas day. My daughter and grandbaby live with me. I came home from work on the 27th only to go to the shopping center to pick up my daughter and grandson, because she could not take the smell of the varnish or whatever it was they did the upstairs floors with. I went back to the house and sealed the doorway to the upstairs with a sheet and trash bags. I opened a couple of windows and we went out for a while to see if the smell would get better. Sealing the doorway helped. We then realized she had turned the heat off and left for a couple of days while the floors dried. Well there we are and when I woke up this morning the temp. was below freezing. What should I do about these things. It seems that landlords can do whatever they want to you.
