Hi, I recently moved from an apartment where I had been living for 5 years. I knew the remaining roommate well, and we had discussed the switiching of the Time Warner cable account from my name to a new tenants (hers or the new roomie). As I knew her fairly well, I left the account on for a few days and left the boxes in the apartment after I had moved out. They were debating keeping the existing equipment or going with DirecTV. Either way, it could be a week or two before new service could be installed, so I left everything there. They ended up electing to get DirecTv and thus did not need the Time Warner boxes. Without saying a word to me about the boxes, they simply threw the boxes in the trash!! Now, of course, Time Warner is billing me about $1,100 for the boxes. I realize I have responsibility in the matter. But, don't they have some liability in the matter too for throwing away property in my name without saying a word? There are saved emails which involve us talking about the cable situation. In none of them does she indicate she would just abruptly throw the boxes out. Thanks for your assistance!
