Stopped payment on a check due to overpayment, talked with secretary and informed of the mistake, company had already sent the check through so I called bank and stopped payment now 3 months later owner is demanding re-issue of payment... Owner no longer holds contract, we are paying finance company for items... can owner demand payment still even though we are paying for the items just through finance company and can I be arrested
