One day while my brother and I (we own the house) were out, our neighbor came into our fenced yard, took down the part of our fence that bordered his yard, shoved our fence behind our shed, then proceeded to put up a wood fence, all from our yard. He then walked off and left our fence wadded up behind our shed. Not only did he did not have our permission to take down our fence, he didn't have our permission to even be in our yard. I've left hime countless notes and have spoken to him countless times asking him to put my fence back up. He has ignored all notes and just makes rude comments and walks off when I talk to him. We don't have the slightest idea how to get the fence back up and we can't afford to pay someone to do it. We think that since the neighbor didn't have permission to take it down he should be responsible for putting it back up. His house is now up for sale and I'm concerned that he'll move before this is settled. Can I still file a police report on this?? Can I get a restraining order barring him from selling his house until he puts the fence back up??
