In 2000 I was engaged. The summer before the wedding he talked me into buying a dog. 11 months later, less than a month before the wedding he called everything off. He moved out and took the dog. I didn't have much choice than too let him take her because my landlord wanted her out.
Six months later when my lease was up I didn't have anywhere to go so he and his roommate offered to let me live in the basement. This worked out great because I got to spend time with my dog. Now he is threatening to move up north and take the dog with him. He says that there is nothing that I can do about it because the dog is legally his since his name is on the license.
Well, I'm the one who pays for the license, I pay for her health insurance and most of her vet. bills and usually most of her food. He can't even remember too feed and water her. I have come home some days after being gone to work for twelve hours and find both her food and water dish empty.
Is there anything that I can do to gain custody of "our" dog?
