ok guys please help me out. i have tried to find the answer to this question numerous times. Here is my situation. I moved into an apart .complex in an apartment (duh) well call it APT A.we signed a 13 month lease. its the on the second floor (out of three). I was in this apartment for TWO WEEKS when the apartment above mine was struck by lightening and caught fire. My apartment didnt get any fire damage but had TONS os smoke and water damage and we had to leave and they moved us into a diff APT. well call that one APT B. when we moved into that one. they said it was temp and we would be there no longer than a month. we signed a new lease for this apart for ONE MONTH. have NOT SIGNED ANYTHING SINCE. it has been 5 MONTHS!!! APT A is still not even close to being done. im pretty sure they havent even started the reapirs. My question is ... since we didnt sign another lease extending the time we would be in apt B, are we still under contract to stay there. AND. was the lease for apt A voided when we signed the second lease or when the fire happend? I would really like to know becuase, we havent had the best experience here and would like to move out but we dont know our legal standing . thanks for ANY info you can give me. also besides replying to this thread it you would like you can e-mail me. thanks
