Short Paid Rent - Sec Dep

Florida-I signed a lease with my landlord who is the former tenant of my residance. I also live with their best friend. I only paid a $250 depoist when I moved in. Over the past 9 months I have been the only person to maintain the standard appearance of the house and clean up. On my final check for rent I paid the Decmeber rent - $250. The landlord has called and left a voicemail stating that I am childish and rude for doing such and that she would like the funds immediately. Now, I understand security deposits but the house is not in the best condition and is currently for sale with that being said and to understand that my roommate has lived there a year longer than myself and is an absolute PIG I felt I would never see a return on my deposit. The contract states that she (landlord) has 15 days after move out to inspect the property. Should I pay the security deposit back? i know if I do I truly will never see this money again and in this economy and I need a new car I just don't feel like throwing the money away but also do not want to be harrassed. My roommate had been in tears last night yelling at me.
