Wrongful stop or not

I was stopped at a 4 way traffic light in the turn only lane. i was 3rd or 4th car in the lane without about 7 or more cars behind me. The officer was directly besides me in the middle stright only lane with a number of cars behind. The lights turn green and both lanes start moving. the officer then came across the traffic without his emergency lights on to make stop on me. To say he noticed i have a expired sticker thats why he was pullin me over. Are officers of the law allowed to break triffic rules to obtain a stop? Is this an example of a vaild traffic stop?

cops can blow red lights, make illegal turns and do whatever they wish. They can make a U turn in the middle of the road to go after people if they wish. This is common sense.
