15 minutes after I clock in for work, put my thermos in my office, affix my radio to my belt, and hit the casino floor, A local police officer approaches me and asks me for my license so I proceed to show him my work ID and he says, "no" your drivers license. I say, "ok" and hand it to him. He begins to tell me that he "clocked" me doing 52 in a 40 this morning and he added that he had clocked me speeding once before. At this point, I am embarrassed beyond belief because most of my coworkers were now interested in this whole ordeal and even casino patrons were tuned in to this source of entertainment. After writing my license number down, the officer said he was letting me off with a warning and to watch my speed. After he leaves, I was bombarded with comments and questions regarding this confrontation not to mention, it left me feeling degraded harassed and publicly humiliated. Is this kind of practice legal? Is there anything I can do? Please Help!
