We're being sued by State Farm!

Well, I had a lovely welcome home yesterday. I received a summons that State Farm is suing us for a car accident my son was involved in 3 freaking years ago. We've been getting notices from debt collectors and having my free union attorney take care of it and thought it was all over. The attorney is out for the holidays and we need to respond in writing to a summons by January 7th. My question is - what response is needed? A simple "We received it and our attorney will be taking care of this?" Do we need to get another attorney like Monday and take care of this in another way? I'm just not sure of the next step.

Hey PeckJ!

Do not write any letters to them when you have your own attorney. Just tell them that they have to wait till your attorney is back!

Maybe the asking of them is not accurate. You would just hurt yourself!
