My dependant 19 year old son died Oct. 26th. I have been trying to obtain the police report to find out what happened the night of his death but have been denied by the Cheif of Police, because my son was an adult. I am wondering how I can get access to this police report. I am his closest surviving relative and need some closure. I know the police detectives made some mistakes while investigating this death (like throwing away all my sons personal belongins). Is there a way to get the report without going through court?
