Two tickets

I was parked on the street in front of my home and received a ticket for expired plates on 12-31-08 at 4:15 am. My question is then I received another ticket for the exact same thing on 1-1-09 7;15am the car was never moved and the first ticket was still on the car. Can they do this?

It is kinda jerkish to do but yes they can do this - as you were cited on one day for the car being parked illegally due to expired tags and then again more than 24 hours later for the car still being there.

i would contact the ticketing body. I have ahd a similar situation happen to me, with two tickets recieved within 6 hours of each other.

When i disputed this they cleared one ticket leaving me with only one to pay. Its always worth a try.

It may depend on where you live... but it sounds like they could do it if the vehicle was never removed.

Did you contact the authority who issued the tickets? It is worth asking for them to void one of the tickets as it seems unfair. You should fight your case - doing nothing won't bring any results, doing something will.
