Get rid of car

bought a van for ex and still owe $$ but I want to get rid of the van - basically get the title and responsibility out of my name. Unable to sell because she did not take care of van so value of van is not worth the value of the loan. Would prefer to get rid of van and have loan as seperate personal loan. How can I get it out of my name for liability reasons I do not have the money to maintain or keep registering the vehicle.
