I work in an animal shelter. I am in a small town so we only have four employees. I have worked there for over 14 months. During this time, there have been many issues within the shelter. The supervisor I have witnessed and have proof of dogs that have been given to people and also customers who have been rude to by the supervisor. On Tuesday the supervisor came in after taking a long weekend and told me that I was being written up for giving dogs away to a rescue group and for being rude to a customer. I know that both of these are unacceptable behavior but again my supervisor and another employee have done the exact same things numerous times. I was written up and threatened to have charges brought againt me and group I gave dogs too. I do not have an issue for being written up but I was treated very rude by the HR dept in my town and my supervisor. When I brough up to both of them that if I am going to be punished then so should they I was lied to by my supervisor who told me that they have never done these things(again I have written proof otherwise) and the HR dept told me that was not the issue at hand. I am wondering do I have enough info and ground to go get a lawyer and sue the county that I work in. I do intend on leaving the county and I already have a job lined up. I am just wondering what should I do.

Sue for what? What are your damages? If you have another job lined up dont burn bridges
