suspended drivers license...

My driving priveleges were recently suspended. This is my second DUI in the catagory of more than five years and less than 10 years, which carries a 180 day suspension. My question is this, does a judge have any leeway when it comes to the sentence if the suspension causes potentially catastrophic consequences? Is there some kind of a review or appeal I might avail myself of?
