Is there anyway to sue a previous employer for slandering you when they were asked to give a reference and it caused the new job to retract their job offer after giving your two weeks?

Thats a tough one. An employer can legally say anything truthful or they believe to be truthful. If you can show the statements are 100% false then yes you can attempt to sue them. Expect that to take over a year of your time and might get costly. You must also show proof those statements were made which means you will need the employer who denied you employment to state what was said and show how that effected not hiring you and nothing else. It will be tough to get the employer to do this
