In December of 2005 I needed a doctor. Since I am unemployed and have no insurance I went to a clinic in my neighborhood. After the exam the doctor told me I needed to go to the hospital. I told him that I was unemployed, had no insurance, and could not afford a visit to the hospital. He told me that all I had to do was go to the county hospital and tell them I was uninsured and couldn't pay and they would treat me for free. I was admitted to the hospital and was there for just over a month. The hospital is now billing me almost $222,000. I am still unemployed and I am still uninsured and I still cannot afford this bill. Since I feel the initial doctor lied to me, what are my legal rights here?
