:confused:I am quitting my job. I am finishing my week out so my boss can't call it job abandonment when she denies me unemployment. I am filing for unemployment that I know will be denied and I will have to appeal it. I feel I could have a civil suite against my former employer. I worked as a salaried manager. I worked 50+hours a week. I'm the 5th Assistant manager my boss has gone through since being transfered to where she is. Four of the Five quit because she blames you for everything, slanders your name to employees, and does things like sending employees to spy on your shift instead of talking to you personally about it. I was medical ill and was excused by the doctor not to work for 3 days. The day i returned my boss made me work open to close which is 19 hours saying i had to make my hours up for the week. That wasn't the bad part the bad part was the fact i had less than 5 hours between going home early that morning and returning at 8 am that morning and work til 3am the next morning again. I have over 15 character witnesses. I have people that still work in the place that will vouch on my behalf telling the things that my boss slanders me about. What do i do? Do i have a case?

A case for what? It is not illegal for your Boss to be a jerk. Furthermore quitting will guarantee your UI benefits be denied. Any appeal will likely lose. Your best option is to seek new work while still working

It isn't only my boss being a jerk it is my boss not following the law. Tell me it isn't illegal for my boss to make me work 19 hours straight and then less than five hours later make me work 19 more hours. It is illegal to slander a persons name i know that for sure. Is it illegal?

You need to check your state's laws on hours or just report it to see what happens. Now far as slander thats a tough one were you damaged? If so how and by how much? I was damaged or at least my credibility was. It is hard to get another promotion when all you here is negative things about me. It isn't that i want someone to pay me for doing nothing or to pay me just because i'm money hungry....I just want something done about the way she treats her employees.....she isn't only a jerk she is degrading toward other people... i don't want anything else...I'm working toward getting another job....I know that people sue other people on a daily basis for emotional distress....I don't want anything from this but some justice...They break labor laws on a daily basis with working minors longer than 8 hours....I'd love some help

but she should leave him,why would you put up with him because shes catholic he can do it over ans over again?
