Facial piercings

I have had them for over 3 years. When I was hired, my employer knew about them. The owners son told me just to make sure that the visible ball on my tongue ring was clear, and it has been for over a year. 2 months after being hired, I was promoted and will be promoted again next week. As far as I knew, California had passed a law prohibiting an employer from reprimanding an employee for having 2 facial piercings. I thought it was discriminatory.

Not all discrimination is illegal. The law protects people from discrimination due to things like age, gender, religion, race etc. Body piercings are not a protected class
