Hello. My name is Gina and what I'm about to talk about I am not so sure it is discrimination but at the same time I did not see any other section this belonged in. The discrimination category was the most suitable. In September of 2006 I started working for Eric J. Rothchild at Rothchild Eye Institute as a receptionist. During the interview I did state to Barbara Freeman, whom is the office manager, and Dr. Rothchild himself that just within the last few month developed a new onset of seizures. Dr Rothchild asked if I was taking medication to control the seizures and my answer was yes, of course I am. Throughout employment I was told by not only the Dr and office manager but the staff as well how great I was and how well liked I was. On January 18, 2007 I had a seizure at work and was transported to Delray Medical Center. I returned to work without any restrictions on January 22, 2007. On January 26,2007 I suffered another seizure at Rothchild Eye Institute and was transported again to Delray Medical Center. On Sunday January 28, 2007 I was relaxing getting ready for work the next day. That evening my phone rang and it was Barbara Freeman the office manager for Rothchild Eye Institute. She asked me how I was feeling and I started to tell her that I was feeling better and I have to go and see my doctor tomorrow but I will be in after that. There was a moment of silence and Mrs. Freeman stated thats what I wanted to talk to you about. Basically she told me I was terminated and she did not want this but when I started having the seizure in the office again on Friday the 26th she was on the phone with Dr Rothchild. After the paramedics transported me Mrs. Freeman called Dr. Rothchild back and he basically told her he can not have this and I am to be terminated immediately. Thank you very much for taking the time to read this and I sure hope someone will be able to help.
Sincerely,
Gina
