i had coverage.. then got cancer during the coverage. my cobra ran out.. no one would cover me after it ran out. i was never without insurance, it never lapsed. what did i do wrong except get sick?... i guess, now, i wait 5 years for coverage.. if i get remarried during this 5 year wait period.. and get sick can the medical field (hospital) put a lien on my husband's home if we marry? how can i avoid this from happening? am i going to get punished because i want to get married? i work full time. i am a realtor ...which offers no insurance. i was covered... started shopping for a new policy 8 months in advance before the cobra ran out... i got cancer in the middle of my search and was denied when i would call... even though i was still covered while making the calls.. what can i do? thanks,
