If my former job pension agreement states that employees are entitled to a pension when the work for five years or more, and I was laid off at 4 years and 10 months. Am I still entitled to a pension?

For this you should discuss with your firm's owner if he/she is ready to pay you then its your company's goodwill and if they have good relation with you then may be they ready to pay you...
May be your pension has been settled from government... So, confirm from your company...

Yeah you need to talk to your employer, do they have a good relationship with you? Worse comes to worse seek legal advice as you could be entitled to a lump sum
