I bought a pool table valued at 2000.00 and financed it in my name.I had to store it temporarily at my friends house because of a space issue.I come to find out that my friend sold the table for 400.00 and that the person he sold it to also sold it to another person.I obtained the names of the two buyers from a mutual friend and i currently know where the table is located.I am still currently making monthly payments on a pool table that i thought was in storage but is in someone elses possession. My question is "what recourse do i have in this matter from a legal standpoint?

Well you have a valid point here. You have every right to go against your friend. File a case against him first.

It would be best to contact a lawyer in this situation. Unfortunately, you don't seem to have any kind of contract with this person regarding storage, therefore it may be difficult to prove.
However, you need to try and sort this out so as you are not paying for a table which you don't currently own or will own.
You have every right to take this to court.

You must contact a lawyer in this matter before taking any step. They can guide you properly in this matter.
