The checks bounced, now what??

I accepted a personal check for a car I had sold, (very bad idea) and now it's been returned to my bank, it's no good. What recourse do I have, if any?? the buyer is from the same area but I don't have the address. This person is now driving a stolen vehicle in my mind- since the payment is null. Thank you,

I have pretty much the same issue - plus they never put the title in their name -- :(

You posted your question in September and it is now November and you got exactly zero replys? What kind of legal form is this? I guess it is one where you guess your answer?

Any you were paid with a bad check, so do you have a valid name? If not them I would report the car as stolen and let the law take care of it.
